Some Ways to Care for Your Eyebrows

Well-groomed eyebrows can do wonders to your face. Here are a few ways to keep them looking great always
As much as you would care for your skin, eyes and hair, taking care of your eyebrows is equally important. Eyebrows help frame your face well and also enhances your overall look. So if you wish to flaunt those gorgeous brows, make sure to follow certain dos and don'ts for it:

1. VISIT A PROFESSIONAL

If achieving a perfect brow shape at home is a little difficult, what adds to your woes is not knowing how to keep them groomed. At such times, it's best get a professional to work on your brows for you. When you are seated with your head bent backwards, the beautician can work on your eyebrows, keeping your face shape in mind.

2. OPT FOR THREADING

There are many salons where they use wax to remove the extra hair growth around your eyebrows. You should never use wax on the area. Not only can the wax enter your eyes, but cause injury around the eye area. The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and if waxed, can tear a nerve around your eyes.

3. INVEST IN A GOOD PAIR OF TWEEZERS:

For the upkeep of your eyebrows at home, buy a pair of tweezers. Tweezers come handy when you have to go out for a party or an office meeting, and don't have enough time to visit a salon. A word of caution though -be careful while using the tweezer so that you don't end up causing injuries to your eyes.

4. DON'T MAKE THEM TOO THIN OR TOO BOLD

You must always keep your face shape in mind when getting your eyebrows groomed. Going too thin or too bold with your brows may make your face look large or small. Innocuous as they look, the shape of your eyebrows can make your face look thinner or larger.

5. BRUSH YOUR BROWS INTO PLACE

When you wake up in the morning, take a thin-tooth soft comb and brush your eyebrows into place. You can also do this before you step out of your house for work. You can also spritz a little hairspray on your brows to keep them intact for a longer duration of time.

6. FILL THEM IN

If you have sparse eyebrows, take a pencil eyeliner in brown or black and shade your eyebrow. Fill it in depending on how dark you want your eyebrows to be. To enhance your eyes, apply a little mineral compact powder around the eye area and with the help of a make-up brush, blend it in.

7. HIGHLIGHT THEM

Using a little highlighter just under the arch of your eyes will accentuate your brow line. This will make you look younger and your eyes look bigger.

CHECK THE SPACING BETWEEN YOUR EYES

If you have close-set eyes, make sure that your brows aren't too short from the tail. While those with wide-set eyes should ensure that they leave more hair in the inner parts of their brows

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT EYEBROWS

The average lifespan of an eyebrow hair is approximately four months. It is also the slowest growing hair on the human body.

The type of eyebrow defines your personality. For example, those with curved eyebrows are said to be people-oriented, while those with straight eyebrows are ones who are direct, factual and logical in life.

Our eyebrows help to form expressions. Thus, they are considered to be a very crucial aspect of human communication.

The real function of an eyebrow is to keep moisture out of the eyes when you are perspiring or when it's raining outside. This is because the arched shape of the brow helps divert liquid to the other side of your face.

It is believed that when you thread or define your eyebrows, you are actually taking part in a very ancient method of facial grooming.

In ancient times, every culture and race had their own way of grooming their eyebrows.

According to beauticians and make-up professionals worldwide, the eyebrows shape the face and give definition to the eyes and forehead.
